The Sheiling Mountain Lodge exists by a code of HONOR, TRUST, RESPECT- ourselves, each other, and the environment. We thank you so much for participating in our code. Most all of the following is for your own safety and protection. The rest is just good judgement and common sense
The Lodge 1. Thanks for not smoking inside! This is a non smoking facility but smoking is permitted outside- all butts, matches, etc. are to be disposed in the cans provided. 2.We appreciate when you bring your litter and anyone else's back from your walks or hikes, and we especially thank you for not feeding our wildlife people food! 3. Fire door must be kept closed at all times in the evenings 4. Thanks for keeping the noise down for those who want to sleep. You are welcome to be as noisy as you want outside or in the living area. 5. Thank you for not eating or drinking in the bedrooms and for helping us to keep unwanted guests from invading our space. 6. Thanks for helping us conserve energy by turning off all of the lights in the bedrooms/washrooms and hallways after use, and of course for not adjusting the thermostats. Temperature is set at a comfortable temperature during the day and turned down at night. If you are cold, put on a sweater and some socks and we'll happily provide extra blankets at night. 7.Thank you for keeping your showers short to allow everyone to enjoy hot water. 8. Thank you for not having any left over food on your plate. If you do just scrape it into the garbage bin and then place your dishes and cutlery into the bins provided. 9. You are welcome to have a fire in our fire pit. Just check with staff before lighting fires and keep it under control. Thanks for making sure there is some buckets of water down at the pit, and thanks for not leaving the fire unattended. 10. Profanity is unacceptable. 11. Thanks for not drinking to excess, and remembering that alcohol is not allowed on site when minor children are present. (unless it is for a private function) 12.Thanks for not putting us at risk! Drugs: There is zero tolerance for drugs. Anyone caught using illegal drugs on the site will be removed from the premises. 13. The following areas are off limits unless you have permission and/or to help out in one of these areas: First Aid Room, Furnace Room, Kitchen, Laundry Room, Storage Rooms, Staff Housing, Gear Room and Office
Hot Tub: The hot tub is absolutely the one amenity that the lodge has, that everyone would really miss if it was out of commission. So here's the skinny (not dipping) on using the hot tub. Thanks for taking care of it!!!!
Shower before going in the hot tub Temperature is set at 104 degrees. When the hot tub cools down, no amount of playing with the temperature buttons is going to make it heat up any faster. The solution is just to get out, put the lid back on and wait for it to heat up again. If the temperature is lower than 99 degrees, you've probably been in there too long to begin with. The hot tub lid is tied down to prevent it from blowing off and cooling down the hot tub. Please tie it down when you are finished. Please don't pop the plastic bubble cover, it is not the bubble pop stuff. Please dry off before you come into the lodge, so that you don't drip down the hallways.
