Recognizing the Unrecognized: Returning to Community after Initiatory Experiences
March 21 - 23, 2014 with Randy Jones & special guest, Laurie Skreslet - the first Canadian to summit Mt Everest in 1982. Laurie will be joining us for the entire weekend!
Standing New Ground. Community Blessings. Challenge of Initiation. Welcoming Back the New You. Bridge Spirituality with the Practical.
Have you felt unseen after experiencing major life changes?
People in the modern world experience the adventures and stress of major changes, just as in the indigenous initiations of tribal cultures.
There is an all-important component of welcoming a person back so they can be new, anew, and renewed. The “new you” is meant to bring back a “medicine” meant to revive and inform cultural traditions and heal old wounds.
We will use the “indigenous technologies” of ritual, story, listening, speaking out, music, dance, and healing to make a “moment of village.” Our celebration gathering will recognize these experiences of change in community, updating the résumés of the soul and spirit, so we ourselves become newly “welcomed-welcomers.”
Join with good people like you who are longing to bridge spirituality with the practical, wishing to build community and sustainability, aspiring to a deep communication with emotion, intuition, and body, needing to take creative action, wanting a closer relationship with nature, and working with the desire to bring their gift into the world.
