Sheiling Mountain Lodge Welcomes You!

We’re so happy you could join us!
The Sheiling Lodge is home to COE, Centre for Outdoor Education, and Essential Life. The Lodge was built with many loving hands, its purpose to be a place of rejuvenation, relaxation, inclusion and seclusion. Sheiling is a Gaelic term meaning “a resting place in the outdoors”. The Lodge is built from strong B.C. Cedar which signified to us that it and we will stand the test of time. Since 1995, people young and old have visited us, adventured with us, retreated with us and become members of our extended family. Many say there is magic here and dreams are realized here. It is they who create the magic!
With a million dollar mountain view and the pristine wilderness of the area; the “rustic” Sheiling offers and gives 5 star service with all the amenities of home. Even though the lodge offers the latest technology (WiFi, TV), we have purposely created an “escape” for people to enjoy some time away.
Located in beautiful David Thompson Country surrounded by mountains and wilderness, we live in a wilderness paradise, untouched for the most part by civilization. We love it that way, and we want all who come, to love it and appreciate it as well!
The lodge has a beautiful common room, where all dine together and relax after the day. Big comfy couches wait for you to sit in the sunshine and read a book, take a nap in the sunbeams, talk with friends, or watch the sun go down. The hot tub on the deck is a place to soak your cares away, sooth your aching muscles, dream, and star gaze. There are millions of stars here!
The Lodge has shared accommodation, in 5 cozy rooms with hand made comfortable beds: bunk style. Each room sleeps 6 comfortably, with drawers underneath to store your personal belongings. How many roommates you have will depend on the number of people who come. There is a reason the rooms are designed this way. You won’t find phone & internet hookups, T.V’s etc. in the rooms. You are here, in the mountains to enjoy the mountains, and at the utmost to enjoy yourself. The rooms are for sleeping, not retreating. We want to get to know our guests and for them to spend time talking, walking, playing games, or just simply hanging out together.
There are two large washroom/showers in the lodge. Plenty of hot running water, mirror and sink space!
Meals at the lodge are home-cooked, nutritious and delicious. We make our own bread, cookies, pastries. There is always plenty of food at meal times. Special diets, restricted diets, allergies are no problem at the lodge. We are very creative and knowledgeable in the kitchen. Coffee/Tea/Hot Chocolate/water is always available, just help yourselves.
Available for use if you need it is our WiFi, our telephone, our music, our projector and screen (fee for use). We do have satellite T.V. but you would never know it!
Alcoholic beverages are permitted at the lodge providing there are no youth staying at the time. We do not sell alcohol to our guests, and we ask that our guests use discretion when consuming alcohol. Private adult functions which may be serving alcohol are advised to obtain extra insurance to cover their function when alcohol is being served. The lodge will not be liable for any mishaps while people are consuming alcohol.
We look forward to spending time and sharing space with you! Remember, "if you haven't any pre-conceived notions or expectations of things to come, they will be met ten fold." Cherism
